Happy New Year from our home to yours

We had a great holiday season at Nashua Children’s Home, with a jam-packed activity schedule. The children participated in extracurricular activities, drawing, crafting, gingerbread house decorating, room decorating, pie making, and community excursions for things like ice skating, sledding, or indoor entertainment.

Halloween kicked off the holiday season starting with our annual Halloween party where each child debuted their chosen costume. Trick-or-treating in the neighborhood was a thrill for everyone, with candy hauls to last weeks! A traditional Thanksgiving feast was prepared for the children in our care and some family members.

Thanks to our generous donors, Christmas was as big as you can imagine for 40 kids! Our annual Christmas party was on December 23rd in our gymnasium that was decked out with Christmas decorations, activity stations, and holiday music. The kids enjoyed a cocoa bar, a taco bar generously donated by T.J. McCartney Inc., cookie decorating, and entertainment generously donated by Party Vision, which included a bouncy house, video games, temporary tattoos, and a photo booth.

In tradition, the excited children gathered around to receive their big present on that night, such as a bike or other special items. One of the older kids helped to hand out presents while the children cheered each other on, chanting names and clapping with joy as each present was unwrapped. On Christmas Eve, the children left cookies and milk in anticipation for Santa, and on Christmas Day they gathered around the Christmas tree to see what Santa had brought. The day was spent enjoying new toys and playing indoors and outdoors.

And of course, New Year’s Eve is here, and the children will celebrate early together with all the traditional noisemakers and festive fun!

We are deeply grateful to everyone in our community who so generously donated gifts and support this season. Because of you, the children we serve were able to experience the joy, warmth, and magic of the holidays.

We wish you a happy healthy, and prosperous New Year! Thank you for believing in our mission. We couldn’t’ do this without you!
