Covid-19 Statement

In order to best protect the boys and girls, and the staff, of Nashua Children’s Home, our response to the COVID-19 pandemic, for the time-being, is to limit the possible exposure of the children to potential carriers, and to continue sound practices (hand-washing, sanitizing surfaces) in-program.

With the suspension of school statewide until April 6 at this point, Nashua Children’s Home is attending to the academic needs of student by:

*Sending home packets of schoolwork, via US Mail, or by personal delivery by school districts, to students enrolled in the Nashua Children’s Home Educational Program.  These students are to begin work on their packets on Monday, March 23 and through April 3, NCH teachers will be available by phone and by e-mail during NCH School hours (9am-3pm).  The packets will contain contact information for teachers.

*Children placed in the Nashua Children’s Home Residential Program but attending public or other alternative schools will participate in educational programming as determined by the school or district in which they are enrolled.  At this point, we are awaiting the guidance of the respective schools and districts, but will be implementing a daily routine with mandatory educational time slots.

During the period of time during which schools are closed (through April 3 at this point), Nashua Children’s Home is limiting entrance to our facilities by others (i.e. conducting meetings telephonically, restricting visits within our facilities) and significantly limiting the interaction of children with the community-at-large.  Fortunately, Nashua Children’s Home has significant on-grounds recreational resources, has accrued storage of food, water, hygienic and sanitizing supplies, and once again is blessed with the continued commitment and diligence of a committed group of staff, who are always there for the children, particularly when needed most.

Thank you for your understanding of our need to “circle the wagons” during this challenging situation and for your continued support and advocacy of the century-long mission of Nashua Children’s Home and the children whom we serve.

Please continue to check this website for updates as the situation develops.
